Explore Pinot Noir...

Pinot Noir is often regarded as one of the most challenging grapes to grow but also one of the most rewarding. It has always been a firm favourite of MySomm’s.

It is diverse, it is powerful, it is light, it is everything that you need from a red wine. The spiritual home of Pinot Noir is in Burgundy, but this light skinned varietal can be grown in all corners of the world. It’s a grape varietal that takes in the elements and provides wines with the most amazing structure and freshness. It is fine varietal that works with or without oak but always has a familiarity that cannot be hidden.

Pinot Noir is great at any time of the year and is also great with an array of foods from steak to salad. I very much believe that there is a Pinot Noir out there that suits everyone, this first case in our series of varietal cases allows people to find their perfect Pinot!

2016 Old Vine Pinot Noir, Humberto Canale, Patagonia, Argentina

Old vine Pinot Noir from the far south of South America, full of cherry and walnut, with a wisp of smoke curling into the nostrils.

2017 Pinot Noir, Sutherland, Western Cape, South Africa

This wine is light and clean, with earthy wild strawberry and raspberry flavours, and a perfumed and elegant finish.

2018 MOMO Pinot Noir Organic, Seresin Estate, Marlborough, New Zealand

Lively, concentrated Pinot Noir spilling over with raspberries and cherries, with a faint perfume of flowers on the finish.

2017 Givry, Joseph Drouhin, Burgundy, France

Fine-grained, fruity Burgundy, lively with gooseberry and blackcurrant, a long-lasting fragrance of spice on the nose.

2017 Cycles Gladiator Pinot Noir, California, USA

Intense aromatics of pomegranate and cherry with a delicate hint of toasted oak. The attack is all red fruit compote, like a bowl of strawberries, cranberries, and cherry pie filling dusted with a hint of cinnamon.

2018 Massale Pinot Noir, Kooyong, Mornington Peninsula, Australia

Magnificent Pinot Noir from Australia's Mornington Peninsula, perfumed with black cherry, summer berries and dried rose petals, followed by a beguiling mouthful of cranberries and more cherry.
